David Frenz, MD
Chief Medical Officer, Integrated Behavioral Health, Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Addiction
"Every patient is unique. I listen carefully to understand their symptoms, life experiences, goals, values, and preferences, and then we develop a treatment plan together that helps them live their best life."
Length of Time at OMC: Since March 2023
Reason for Liking Work at OMC: "I grew up in small towns. Osceola Medical Center is bringing high-quality, 'big city' mental health and addiction care to its community. I wanted to be part of that exciting program."
Philosophy of Care: What is your philosophy of care? "My approach to care is patient-centered and collaborative. I believe in creating a treatment environment where patients feel heard, respected, and actively involved in their health journey."
Personal Interests: What do you like to do when you’re not at OMC? "I love reading and spending quality time with my family. These moments help me recharge and maintain a healthy work-life balance."
Fun Fact: Fun Fact about me: "Joan and I have been married since 2001. We have three sons and a dog named Lacy. Also, early in my career, I was an expert on ragweed pollen — the stuff in the air that causes allergies."
