About Me

Length of time at OMC:
I have been at OMC since 2015. Before that, I spent time in the clinical lab at Gunderson Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse during my undergraduate years. Then I moved to Madison and performed ovarian cancer research for four years before starting my medical education and training.

Why do you like working at OMC?
My patient care team is absolutely amazing, and our nurses and support staff go above and beyond to try to make a patient’s experience the best it can be at OMC. In the clinic, I work in a collaborative care model for most visits, where my assistant focuses on the computer so that I can focus on the patient in front of me. I think it allows me to pay more attention to the patient as a person, and we are often able to address more than one concern at an office visit.

What is your philosophy of care?
Each person is a complex and unique creation of his or her life experiences and family heritage. Our physical, mental, and spiritual health is all intertwined. By treating each person as an individual, looking at life circumstances, and acknowledging the importance of all these aspects of a person, I feel we can provide better and more comprehensive care. Long term health is a shared effort between a physician and a patient, and shared decision-making and goal setting is important.

What do you like to do when you’re not at OMC?
Outside of work, my time is devoted to my family. My husband and I have three children and they are becoming more and more involved in school, sports, music, and activities. I enjoy just being at home with family, gardening, sewing, crocheting, and playing piano, but love listening to and helping my kids play music even more!

Fun Fact about me:
My newest ambition is learning to play the ukulele.
