At Osceola Medical Center, we are constantly striving to improve your healthcare experience. That’s why we are excited to announce that we will be transitioning from our current patient portal, Athena, to Epic MyChart on November 10, 2024. This upgrade will bring a host of new features designed to make managing your health easier and more convenient than ever before.
Why are we switching to MyChart?
Epic MyChart is a state-of-the-art patient portal that provides you with comprehensive access to your health information. Here are some key reasons why we’re making the switch:
User-Friendly Interface:
MyChart offers an intuitive, easy-to-navigate platform that makes it simple for you to access your health information.
Improved Access to New Health Records:
View your new medical history, lab results, medications, and immunization records anytime, anywhere after the launch. (Note: Past medical records will not transfer to MyChart but can still be accessed by contacting OMC's medical records office.)
Efficient Appointment Scheduling:
Over the coming months, you’ll be able to schedule, view, and manage your appointments with just a few clicks as new features roll out.
Streamlined Billing and Payments:
Easily view and pay your bills online, with a clear breakdown of charges.
Improved Communication with Providers:
Send and receive secure messages from your healthcare providers, request prescription refills, and get answers to your health questions.
Health Reminders and Notifications:
Receive reminders for upcoming appointments, screenings, and vaccinations.
What does this mean for you today?
Starting on November 10, 2024, you can sign up for your new MyChart account to continue accessing your health information online. Here’s how you can prepare:
No Immediate Action Needed:
Your current patient portal will remain active until the switch. You don’t need to do anything right now.
Document Download (Recommended):
As we prepare to launch Epic MyChart on November 10, 2024, we want to remind all current patients to download any important medical records or lab results from the current portal before the switch. After November 10, the current patient portal will be permanently shut down, and you will no longer have access to your old records online. Please note that your provider and our Medical Records Department will always have your previous information, but downloading your records now will save you time and ensure you have everything you need at your fingertips. For step-by-step instructions on how to download your records, check out our detailed guide here.
