New General Surgeon joins OMC

Board Certified Surgeon Felix Blanco, MD, has joined the staff at Osceola Medical Center in Osceola, WI.

As a general surgeon, Dr. Blanco performs operations involving the endocrine system, gastrointestinal tract, liver, colon, and other major parts of the body. His areas of particular interest include: laparoscopy, hepatobiliary, trauma and vascular surgery. Additional training in pediatric surgery and transplant surgery expanded his abilities to care for a broad spectrum of patients both in a large or small community.

“I’m excited to be joining OMC and given the opportunity to work together with a medical team that shares my vision of patient care,” explained Dr. Blanco. “I’m also looking forward to joining a small town that maintains its sense of community and offers easy access to nature.”

Dr. Blanco graduated from the University of San Andres in La Paz, Bolivia. He completed general surgery residency and a pediatric surgery research fellowship in Washington DC, then trained in transplant surgery at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Blanco is board certified and a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery.
